CustodianThe Custodian is responsible for maintaining proper levels of cleanliness in assigned areas. Successful candidates will contribute to that environment and exhibit potential for excellence in their areas of expertise.Essential Functions:Maintains carpet and hard surface floors.Dusts and polishes furniture.Washes walls and removes trash.Relamps and cleans windows.Cleans and stocks restrooms.Performs special event set-up during the week and for weekend events when necessary.Supports campus-wide activities in the areas of setup, snow and ice removal, and any other duties as assigned.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 am - 10:00 am. This position works 40 hours per week.A shift differential of $2.00 per hour will be provided for regularly scheduled hours worked between 2:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. to recognize the unique scheduling requirements of overnight operations.Minimum Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent GED preferred.Experience in a custodial role is preferred.Must be able to follow verbal and written directions and provide responses in writing.This position requires the possession and maintenance of a valid Virginia vehicle operator's license and a good driving record.Must be able to pass an extensive background check.Application Instructions:Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
