Custodian Position at Locust Grove MiddleWe are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian at Locust Grove Middle. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Responsibilities:Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.Ensure all facilities are well-stocked with necessary supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.Conduct periodic deep cleaning and special projects as assigned, such as carpet cleaning and window washing.Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.Assist with setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities.Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas, including sidewalks, playgrounds, and parking lots.Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall mission of the school.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.Ability to operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely and effectively.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.Must pass background checks and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
