Job description
Custodial Maintenance StaffSt. Francis Xavier School is a Pre-K and Elementary Catholic School which is part of the St. Joseph Catholic Academy.The custodial maintenance staff reports directly to the Principal. The custodial staff is responsible for the following duties:Maintaining a clean and sanitized environmentReplenishing restroom and other necessary supplies throughout the facility as neededProviding routine cleaning for the school through cleaning toilets, sinks, and windows, taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dustingSecuring the building at the end of the dayRequesting necessary supplies for cleaning and maintaining the buildingPerforming a daily visual inspection of the entire school property and clean and maintain as neededInforming the maintenance supervisor of repairs needed to the building through written work ordersPerforming work to be done as a result of work orders requested by the principal, pastor, or business managerReporting all vandalism as soon as possible to the maintenance supervisorSnow removal or ice treatment of sidewalks, entry ways as necessaryKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesGood organizational and time management skillsAbility to understand and carry out instructions independently from supervisorBuild collaborative relationships with employeesAbility to work independently or with a teamKnowledge of chemicals, machines and tools used in cleaningQualificationsMust be 18 years of age or olderMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a timeAvailable to work afternoon and eveningsHigh school diploma or equivalentRelated experience preferredFamiliarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.Note: All employees are required to consent to a background check, commit to our Code of Conduct policy, and complete online and in-person trainings prior to hire.
