The position is responsible for cleaning offices, bathroom and locker room facilities, meeting rooms and classrooms, grounds, and performing minor repairs. This position is also responsible for daily room set-up and break-down. Performs related work as required.When assigned to Parks & Recreation, this position is responsible for cleaning offices, bathroom and locker room facilities, meeting rooms and classrooms and grounds.Essential Functions/Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesGeneral expectations for all employees include understanding how team, department, and City goals are interconnected, contributing to a positive work culture, assessing work performance, contributing to the development of others, working as part of a team, and continuously learning and developing.Essential duties and responsibilities include complying with the City of McKinney Employee Handbook, adhering to assigned work schedules, cleaning and maintaining various areas, performing minor maintenance and repairs, responding to emergency situations, ordering and delivering cleaning supplies, reporting equipment malfunctions, moving furniture, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors, and possessing good knowledge of routine maintenance and cleaning procedures.When assigned to Parks & Recreation, duties include cleaning and maintaining offices, halls, meeting rooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, and recreation areas, taking out trash, responding to emergency situations, ordering and delivering cleaning supplies, and reporting equipment malfunctions.Other job functions include performing other duties as assigned or directed.Knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors include embracing and embodying the City's core values, communicating effectively, producing desired work outcomes, planning and organizing work, building professional relationships, offering flexibility and adaptability, recognizing safety hazards, reading and following directions, and using equipment and cleaning materials efficiently.Required QualificationsMinimum qualifications include six months of related experience, the ability to read and follow written and oral directions, passing a post-offer physical examination, and a high school diploma or GED preferred. Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above minimum qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the specified education and experience requirements.Conditions of employment include passing a drug screen and background check, having a Class C Texas Driver's License, and passing a post-offer physical examination.Physical Demands/SupplementalPhysical demands involve exerting heavy physical effort, climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects, and occasionally heavier objects. Some tasks require visual and odor perception and discrimination. Work environment may involve exposure to strong odors, traffic hazards, extreme heat/cold, or extreme weather conditions.BenefitsMental health care through Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
