CustodianJefferson School DistrictAmy Gee Superintendent of SchoolsPosition Title: CustodianLocation: High SchoolShift: Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (summer hours will be day shift)Salary: According to Master Contract with the Jefferson Educational Support Personnel AssociationRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent with a strong background in custodial/maintenance knowledge and skills. Must be dependable with a good attendance record. Ability to anticipate and forecast situations for the overall efficient operation of a school facility. Understands and follows oral and written directions, ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, with all people in a courteous manner.Must be self-motivated, detail oriented with a personal desire to excel and succeed.Essential Mechanic Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the Director of Support Services or designee and the Building Principal to assist and perform custodial work within the assigned educational facility.Reports any acts of vandalism, any deliberate misbehavior that is unsafe/demeaning to the well-being of the staff/students or public. Is responsible for seeing necessary security requirements of the building are maintained and violations reported promptly. Performs necessary minor repairs to doors, windows, light switches, draperies, shades, furniture, plumbing, electrical, flooring, etc., and submit by work order, those items beyond ability to repair.Responsible for assisting/performing snow removal on sidewalks, grass mowing and other yard work as applicable and necessary. Required to work in all elements of weather. Responsible for set-ups in the auditorium, gym or events required by the Building Administrator/Director. Responsible for knowing and enforcing fire and safety rules and regulations as required by the local/state/federal mandates.Maintains heating equipment, regulating heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and ensure economical use of fuel, water, and electricity.Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all custodial assigned areas, equipment, including inventory of materials/equipment. Coordinates the movement of office/classroom and building equipment as requested. Assists in the loading/unloading of deliveries including school supplies/materials/equipment.
