Job description
Custodian 1Position: Custodian 1Pay Grade: AUX 1Duty Days: 200Salary: KISD Current Staff Compensation Plan for Auxillary.Duties Include But Are Not Limited To The FollowingDusts, sweeps, vacuums, buffs and/or mops floors as necessary. Dust and clean walls, doors, glass, windows, woodwork and other items above the floor surfaces. Dust, clean and polish furniture.Washes and cleans fixtures, hardware, tile, mirrors.Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, lounges, and dressing rooms. Keep these areas supplied with towels, soap and other items as needed.Empties pencil sharpeners and room waste baskets.Cleans chalk rails. Scrub, clean and wash basins and water fountains.Perform non-routine duties assigned by the head custodian. This would include stripping and refinishing floors, cleaning light fixtures, carpet shampooing or extracting, wall and vent cleaning, move furniture, set up rooms for special events.Follows work schedules daily as directed by the Head Custodian.Generally has stewardship or custodial responsibilities for equipment, materials, and supplies and is responsible for certain areas of the building. Notify the head custodian of equipment and facilities needing repairs or replacement.Performs other duties as assigned by the head custodian, coordinator, principal and director of plant operations.Reports directly to the head custodian.Work ConditionsMaintain emotional control under stress.Strenuous walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, heavy lifting up to 50 pounds; Carrying cleaning chemicals supplies and equipment.Work outside and inside.Exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, mold mildew, moisture, toxic chemicals and materials.Slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders.A select number of applicants will be invited for an interview.
