Building Operations And Grounds MaintenanceFollow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDAbility to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety proceduresKnowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenanceAbility to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment (Up to 50 lbs)Ability to properly handle cleaning suppliesMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Cleaning:Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, whiteboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.Keep school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas, neat and clean.Comply with local laws and procedures for storage, disposal of trash and recycling proceduresAssist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.Maintenance and Repair:Assist with lunchroom set up, including arranging tables and chairs.Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.Make minor building repairs as needed and report major repair needs to principal.Move furniture or equipment within building as directed by principal.Assist in setting up facilities for special events.Equipment Used: Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, electric drill, hand tools, shampooer, and scrubber.Year Round Work Schedule*Minimum Salary $13.00 hourly *Salary is commensurate with experienceSheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through November 3, 2024. After this date, applications will continue to be accepted in the event a suitable candidate is not identified. If no viable candidate is selected from the initial applicant pool, applications submitted after November 3rd will be reviewed in five-day intervals until a candidate is recommended for hire.
