Job description
Facility MaintenanceClean and maintain Region 3 facilities using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED certificateThree years of experience in custodial workKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to read and understand written and oral instructionsKnowledge of custodial cleaning methods, sanitation techniques, and safe chemical handlingKnowledge of proper use and care of custodial equipment such as floor machines, carpet shampooers, vacuums, and auto-scrubbersAbility to work in multiple buildings as neededStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to exercise judgment in selecting appropriate cleaning methods, chemicals, and safety practicesEssential FunctionsPerform daily custodial duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting surfaces, emptying trash, and cleaning restroomsMaintain hallways, offices, breakrooms, restrooms, conference rooms and common areas in clean, neat, sanitary conditionPerform routine and periodic floor care including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaningClean interior windows, glass, mirrors, furniture, fixtures, and high-touch areasFollow Region 3 protocols for infection control and safe chemical handlingConduct deep-cleaning tasks during breaks, including wall washing, detailed floor maintenance, and office sanitationMaintain custodial closets and supply storage areas in a clean and organized stateFollow all Region 3 safety practices, PPE requirements, and SDS proceduresUse appropriate judgment when handling chemicals, cleaning agents, and potentially hazardous situationsAssist with opening and closing buildings, ensuring all interior security checks are completedKeep halls and exits free of hazards; correct unsafe conditions immediately or report them to supervisorParticipate in required training, safety meetings, and professional developmentFollow emergency procedures including evacuation, lockdown, and shelter-in-placeMaintain a positive, cooperative, and professional attitude with staff, visitors, and coworkersCommunicate supply needs, building issues, or schedule conflicts promptly to the supervisorWork scheduled hours consistently; availability for flexible scheduling (days, evenings, weekends) as assignedMaintain confidentiality, professionalism, and excellent customer service at all timesWork effectively across multiple buildings if required by the site or assignmentPerform other custodial duties as assignedRegular and reliable attendanceTools & EquipmentCustodial cartsVacuumsFloor buffers and burnishersAuto-scrubbersCarpet extractors/shampooersMops, brooms, dustersHand toolsLadders and step stoolsPhysical DemandsAbility to lift 25–45 lbs. regularly and heavier items with assistanceFrequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reachingFrequent pushing/pulling of custodial carts and equipmentClimbing stairs as neededRepetitive hand and arm motionsAbility to perform physical work dailyEnvironmentPrimarily indoor, climate-controlled conditionsExposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, odors, and moderate noise levelsOccasional wet or slippery floorsMay require irregular or extended hours based on building needsMental DemandsMaintain emotional control under stressFollow detailed instructionsWork independently and as part of a teamManagement multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentAll positions at ESC 3 are defined as security-sensitive.
