Custody Officer I
Department: Safety Job Status: Full-Time Shift: 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM Rate of Pay: $24.00 - $24.00 Hourly Position Type: Full-Time Status: Accepting Applications
Position Description

Join our team as a Custody Officer I , where you'll play a vital role in maintaining security, supporting safety, and ensuring accountability for individuals served in our facility. What You'll Do
Ensure security of assigned posts by staying alert and proactive in preventing emergencies and elopements.
Monitor activities of individuals served, responding to and de-escalating disruptive or aggressive behavior.
Operate and monitor facility security systems, including communications, surveillance, alarms, and perimeter systems.
Conduct searches of individuals, living areas, and communal spaces to prevent contraband.
Control and monitor all facility entry and exit points, verifying identification and ensuring compliance with security procedures.
Respond to emergency calls, applying safe aggression-control techniques to protect individuals and staff.
Inspect the facility environment for safety risks or hazards.
Monitor vehicular traffic and maintain surveillance of parking areas.
Education High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience Previous experience in corrections, detention, custody, security, law enforcement, behavioral health, or a related setting (preferred).
Licenses/Certifications
(Florida Only) Must be at least 18 years of age (required).
FDLE Correctional Officer certification required or must be eligible to obtain certification in accordance with applicable FDLE requirements (required).
Valid state driver's license (required).
