Custom Fabric Assembly SpecialistWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Custom Fabric Assembly Specialist in Stevens Point, WI to create custom seating and positioning products that enhance comfort, support, and mobility for customers. This role combines sewing, fabrication, and assembly responsibilities and requires a strong commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and accuracy. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, has experience working with fabrics and production equipment, and takes pride in producing custom products that meet exact specifications.Custom Fabric Assembly Specialist Responsibilities:Fabricate, sew, and assemble custom seating and positioning products according to customer specifications, work orders, and production requirementsRead and interpret patterns, measurements, blueprints, technical instructions, and other production documentationMeasure, mark, cut, and prepare fabrics, foam, and other materials for assemblyOperate industrial sewing machines, embroidery equipment, cutting tools, and other production equipment safely and efficientlyAssemble custom products using a variety of materials, components, and fastening methodsInspect finished products to ensure accuracy, durability, functionality, and compliance with quality standardsSelect appropriate materials and components to meet customer and product requirementsMaintain sewing and production equipment through routine cleaning and minor maintenanceIdentify opportunities to improve production processes, product quality, and operational efficiencyFollow all safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing guidelinesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentSupport a positive team environment through collaboration, professionalism, and reliabilityRequirements for Custom Fabric Assembly Specialist:At least two years of professional sewing, upholstery, fabrication, assembly, or related manufacturing experienceProficiency operating industrial sewing equipment and utilizing various fabrication techniquesAbility to accurately read measurements, patterns, blueprints, and work instructionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environmentEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to adapt to changing priorities and production schedulesStrong sewing, fabrication, and assembly skillsKnowledge of sewing machine operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenanceAbility to work with a variety of fabrics, foams, and specialty materialsExcellent problem-solving and organizational skillsStrong focus on quality, accuracy, and craftsmanshipAbility to thrive in a fast-paced production environmentAbility to observe, identify, and address product quality concernsDependable attendance and commitment to meeting production goalsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workdayFrequent hand and wrist movements for detailed sewing, cutting, and assembly tasksFrequent walking, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, and pullingAbility to lift, move, and handle materials and finished productsFrequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 poundsManual dexterity sufficient to operate sewing machines, fabrication equipment, and assembly toolsAbility to perform all essential job functions safely and effectivelyQPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
