Primary Responsibilities:
- Crafting Custom Woodwork: Create high-quality custom millwork items such as cabinets, furniture, and architectural details.
- Reading Blueprints: Interpret and follow detailed blueprints and drawings to meet the exact specifications of custom orders.
- Machine Operation: Operate various woodworking machines like saws, planers, and joiners to cut and shape wood.
- Hand Finishing: Use hand tools to finish surfaces, fit pieces together, and apply finishes.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring they meet design specifications and high standards of craftsmanship.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience required as a custom woodworker, with knowledge and understanding of historic millwork preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with standard woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce precise and detailed work.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting issues during the fabrication process.
- Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand for long periods and handle heavy materials.
