We offer the following:DentalVisionLife Insurance401K plan with company matchEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Referral BonusAnnual college scholarship available for children & grandchildren of PTC employeesJob Summary:The Mill Cutoff Operator Group 2 assists the mill operator with mill changeovers, monitors tube quality, performs equipment adjustments and maintenance, and supports inspection, documentation, and training activities to ensure consistent product quality. This role requires adherence to safety and quality systems while performing physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist mill operator in changeover of mill.Constantly monitors quality of tube for surface condition, measures for I.D. flash, O.D. size, gauge, length, end condition and checks for tube straightnessMakes adjustments to or replaces cutoff tooling as neededLubricates cutoff, greases bearings, oils gear boxes as time permitsAssist in eddy current setup and maintains painting unitHelps mill loader when possibleKeeps heat numbers separateDocuments weld mill final inspection sheet as neededAids in training of new employeesCleans all areas of the plant when not directed to do anything elsePerforms miscellaneous duties as directed.The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Must have an average background in math. Also is expected to be able to lift, push or pull a maximum 100 pounds. Required to walk, stand, or climb for the entire shift.
