Nocturnist APRN/NP and/or PA – Cardiovascular Unit – Waterbury, Connecticut
UConn HealthWaterbury Hospital is seeking an experienced APRN/NP or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Cardiovascular Unit. This is a day position with a few nocturnist shifts. The provider will deliver high-quality, independent care for cardiac and cardiothoracic patients, assist with pre and post-operative management, and support patient transitions across the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage inpatients on cardiac and cardiothoracic services under attending supervision
Care for patients with myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndromes, post-op open-heart procedures, and mechanical support devices (IABP, Impella)
Perform comprehensive assessments, order tests, interpret hemodynamics, and participate in advanced procedures
Educate patients, families, and staff while collaborating with the interprofessional team
Requirements:
Current Connecticut APRN/PA license with DEA and controlled substance registration
Minimum 2 years’ APP experience preferred
Experience with first-assist capabilities preferred
Strong cardiovascular clinical expertise and communication skills
