Job description
One of our clients is looking for an experienced Data Architect (Databricks) – Houston, TX (Hybrid) for a contract or fulltime opportunity.
15+ years of experience in Data Engineering
5+ years of experience in Data Architecture
5+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks; expert-level expertise preferred
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and cloud-based data architecture solutions
Strong proficiency in PySpark, Apache Spark, Spark SQL, and Python
Extensive experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and ETL/ELT pipelines
Strong experience with Delta Lake and Medallion Architecture
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)
Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning
Experience with Databricks Jobs, Workflows, clusters, notebooks, and performance optimization
Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and enterprise data architecture
Hands-on experience with Unity Catalog, data governance, security, and access controls
Experience with Git, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and DevOps practices
Experience designing and implementing Azure Databricks Lakehouse architectures
Strong understanding of data governance, data lineage, metadata management, and security
Experience providing technical leadership and architectural guidance to Data Engineering teams
