Job Summary
Data Architect responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing enterprise data architecture, data models, databases, and analytics solutions. The role requires 10+ years of experience in data architecture, modeling, and analytics, with strong hands‑on expertise in Erwin, PL/SQL, Oracle, and Python. The position focuses on OLTP data modeling, database design, performance optimization, data quality, governance, integration, and migration. Telecom domain experience is highly preferred, with mobile domain experience also desirable. This is an in‑person role based in St. Louis requiring 4 days in the office and is structured as a long‑term contract with potential for extension based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable data models using Erwin to meet business and technical requirements.
Develop and implement normalized OLTP data models.
Design efficient database schemas, including tables, relationships, constraints, and other database objects.
Create and maintain data model policies and procedures supporting functional design.
Develop and optimize complex PL/SQL scripts and Oracle‑based solutions.
Ensure OLTP systems meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
Identify and resolve data‑related issues involving system integration and compatibility.
Implement data capacity planning and scalability strategies.
Lead the development of data pipelines, integration solutions, and migration strategies.
Establish methods for monitoring data quality, completeness, consistency, and redundancy.
Implement data governance frameworks and data stewardship processes.
Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Analyze large datasets to derive actionable insights and support business decision‑making.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data architectures and technical specifications.
Collaborate with project leads, consultants, and business unit leaders on data‑related initiatives.
Provide technical leadership and promote data architecture best practices.
Troubleshoot data architecture, modeling, database, and integration issues.
Communicate effectively with customers and project teams and elevate issues when necessary.
Actively participate in data modeling, coding, performance optimization, and technical troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, analytics, and development.
Strong proficiency in Erwin, PL/SQL, Oracle, and Python.
Advanced experience with data modeling techniques for OLTP systems.
Strong experience with database design and implementation.
Strong understanding of relational databases and database architecture.
Experience with ETL processes, data integration, and data migration.
Strong experience with database performance optimization and scalability.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality, and data integrity.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for working with complex datasets and data‑related challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross‑functional teams.
Hands‑on experience with data modeling, coding, troubleshooting, and database optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
Telecom domain experience.
Experience working with telecom‑specific data systems.
Mobile domain experience.
Experience implementing data governance and stewardship processes in large enterprise environments.
