Job description

Primary Responsibilities

Design and implement enterprise data architectures aligned with business and technology requirements.

Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

Lead and support large-scale database migration and modernization initiatives.

Design, optimize, and maintain database environments using Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server.

Develop migration strategies, plans, and execution approaches for complex database environments.

Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Support data integration, ETL/ELT, and data quality initiatives.

Collaborate with engineering, application, infrastructure, and business teams to define data architecture and migration requirements.

Evaluate data platforms, technologies, and architectural solutions to support enterprise initiatives.

Ensure data solutions meet requirements for scalability, performance, security, availability, and reliability.

Provide technical leadership and communicate architecture decisions, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of overall IT experience, including 4+ years in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Database Engineering roles.

Strong expertise in Data Architecture and Data Modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.

Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration, database design, optimization, and performance tuning.

Strong hands-on experience with Sybase ASE.

Proven experience with database migration methodologies and large-scale database migration projects.

Experience with cloud database migration and modernization initiatives.

Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills.

Experience with data integration, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data quality processes.

Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture principles.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing enterprise data architectures within financial services or wealth management environments.

Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-based database technologies.

Experience with large-scale data modernization and transformation programs.

Familiarity with enterprise data governance and data management practices.
