Data Cabling Installation LeadNational Network Services (NNS) is seeking an experienced Data Cabling Installation Lead to oversee structured cabling projects and lead installation teams in commercial environments. This role is responsible for the successful completion of assigned projects while maintaining NNS standards for safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with copper and fiber optic cabling systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects, mentor technicians, and communicate effectively with customers and project stakeholders.What We Offer:Salary Range: $25–$35/hour, depending on experienceMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceFree Basic Life InsuranceVoluntary Life InsuranceShort- and Long-Term DisabilityCompany-Matched 401(k)Paid HolidaysPaid Time OffGeneral Requirements:Valid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to pass background checks and drug screening if requiredOSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyAbility to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffoldingComfortable working in ceilings, crawl spaces, and construction environmentsAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periodsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsExcellent attention to detailGood communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamReliable, punctual, and organizedWillingness to travel to job sites and occasionally work overtime as project schedules requireWhat You'll Do:Project Leadership:Lead and oversee structured cabling installation projects from start to finishEnsure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standardsAssign daily work activities and provide direction to installation teamsMonitor project progress and adjust resources as needed to meet project goalsMaintain clear communication with customers, project managers, supervisors, and team membersTeam Development:Mentor and train Level I and Level II Cable InstallersSupport employee development and technical skill advancementPromote a culture of safety, accountability, and quality workmanshipTechnical Responsibilities:Install, terminate, splice, test, troubleshoot, and certify copper and fiber optic cabling systemsUtilize test equipment to verify system performance and troubleshoot issuesIdentify and resolve cabling, connectivity, and infrastructure problemsEnsure installations comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and local codesProject Planning & Estimating:Conduct site surveys and project walkthroughs for projects up to approximately $50,000Develop scopes of work, material lists, assumptions, and project estimatesReview project requirements and create detailed execution plansDevelop crew schedules, daily and weekly goals, safety plans, and tool requirementsTrack labor productivity, project budgets, and schedule performanceCompliance & Standards:Understand and apply industry standards and best practicesIdentify issues related to plenum vs. PVC cabling, ISP/OSP requirements, grounding, bonding, and lightning protectionEnsure compliance with safety regulations and customer standardsWhat You'll Bring:5+ years of structured cabling installation experienceProven experience leading installation crews and managing commercial cabling projectsStrong knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systemsExperience with fiber termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshootingAbility to read blueprints, construction drawings, and project documentationStrong organizational, communication, and leadership skillsExperience managing project schedules, budgets, and labor resourcesTechnical Skills:Fiber optic identification, placement, termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshootingCopper cabling installation, testing, and certificationFamiliarity with structured cabling standards and best practicesProficiency with:Microsoft WordMicrosoft ExcelMicrosoft ProjectAdobe AcrobatPreferred Qualifications:BICSI Technician or Installer CertificationOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 CertificationExperience with commercial construction projectsExperience with data centers, telecom, or enterprise network infrastructureWorking with our Company:Founded in 1989, National Network Services (NNS) is an industry leader in the installation and support of Structured Cabling, Physical Security, Audio Visual, and DC Power Systems.
