Data Engineer – Quantitative Trading
Location: New York City (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to $150,000 Base + Performance Bonus

About the Opportunity
We're partnering with an established, global multi-strategy hedge fund seeking a talented Data Engineer to join its expanding quantitative technology team.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of data engineering, financial markets and quantitative research, developing the infrastructure that supports sophisticated investment strategies and live trading operations.
You'll join a small, collaborative engineering team where you'll have genuine ownership, exposure to experienced quantitative researchers and the opportunity to influence the evolution of the firm's data platform.

What You'll Be Doing
Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting quantitative research and live trading.
Build robust data processing systems using Python, handling large volumes of financial and market data.
Work closely with quantitative researchers to deliver reliable, high-quality datasets for investment strategies.
Integrate new market data sources into existing infrastructure.
Develop automated data validation, monitoring and quality assurance processes.
Optimise database performance, storage and data retrieval.
Contribute to the architecture and ongoing development of the firm's core data platform.
Collaborate with engineers and researchers to improve the performance, reliability and scalability of data systems.
What We're Looking For
1+ years Python programming
Experience working with financial datasets
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data engineering principles.
Experience working with relational databases, data warehouses or data lakes.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
Understanding of database performance optimisation and data processing at scale.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
