Job description

Guidehouse is hiring a Data Scientist to lead analytical workstreams that support complex financial crime investigations and enforcement matters. This onsite role in Washington, DC combines advanced data science methods with decision-support outputs used by regulatory and enforcement stakeholders. If you bring experience turning analysis into actionable recommendations and you hold an active Secret clearance , this position offers a strong mix of analytical impact and collaboration.

Salary: USD 98,000 to 163,000 per year

Location: Washington, DC (onsite)

Travel: up to 10%

What you’ll do

Lead analytical workstreams supporting complex financial crime investigations and enforcement matters.

Apply advanced data science methodologies to structured and unstructured datasets to identify patterns of illicit financial activity.

Support investigative findings and develop analytical products used in regulatory and enforcement decision-making .

Translate analytical findings into memoranda, briefings, recommendations , and other decision-support products.

Independently execute analytical projects and collaborate directly with investigators , intelligence analysts , attorneys , and regulatory stakeholders .

What you’ll need

Active and current Secret clearance required.

US Citizenship required.

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies , or a related field.

4+ years of experience developing analytical methods, models, tools, or workflows that deliver actionable insights.

Experience analyzing financial data and BSA filings , including SARs , CTRs , wire transfers, transaction records, account activity, or related financial intelligence datasets.

Strong proficiency with Python , SQL , PySpark , machine learning , natural language processing , data visualization , and statistical analysis .

Experience performing entity resolution of businesses, companies, beneficial owners, or related parties.

Experience working in large-scale data environments using Hive , Spark , Hadoop , PostgreSQL , Oracle , or similar technologies.

Ability to translate analytical findings into decision-support documents and outputs.

Ability to independently execute analytical projects and collaborate with investigative and regulatory teams.

Nice to have

Experience supporting investigations involving money laundering, proliferation financing, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, cyber-enabled financial crime, or complex fraud schemes.

Experience analyzing blockchain, virtual currency, Fedwire, correspondent banking, or international transaction data.

Experience supporting enforcement actions, regulatory reviews, or investigative matters.

Prior experience supporting FinCEN , Treasury , DOJ , DHS , or other federal law enforcement or regulatory agencies.
