Job description
RS Americas is seeking a Data Scientist to help drive profitable growth through data-driven insights that strengthen margin performance. In a hybrid role based in Fort Worth, TX, you will use advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning to uncover pricing, cost, and product mix opportunities that support sales quoting and the transformation of pricing and revenue processes.
What you will do
Collaborate with pricing, sales, procurement, and finance teams to translate complex data into actionable recommendations for strategic decision-making
Analyze margin and growth performance across customers, products, suppliers, and channels to identify improvement opportunities
Identify margin leakage drivers including discounting, pricing inconsistencies, and cost fluctuations
Evaluate win/loss data, deal-level performance, and competitive pricing trends
Build predictive models for demand, price elasticity, and customer behavior
Use machine learning to surface cross-sell, upsell, and mix optimization opportunities
Aggregate and transform large datasets spanning Sales, Customer, Product, and Competitor information
Share results through storytelling using clear, actionable insights
Enable self-service analytics for business stakeholders
Track and measure the realized impact of implemented initiatives
Develop deeper understanding of business areas and introduce fresh ideas that can influence strategy and policy
Maintain documentation for models, data pipelines, and methodologies
Ensure compliance with data governance and internal policies
Promote best practices in analytics and data science across the organization
Key requirements
Python
Advanced SQL
Advanced statistics and machine learning knowledge
Advanced data engineering and feature building
Reasonable level of price theory, including willingness to pay, share of wallet, and elasticity
Stakeholder management, including simplifying advanced concepts into narratives and visualizations
Strong problem solving and ideation
Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work in group projects
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent experience
