Description Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking a Database Engineer – PostgreSQL (AWS RDS) to support a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) customer.
This initiative will modernize and simplify access across a portfolio of production applications by creating a unified platform with single sign-on, a common user interface, and a repeatable approach for integrating applications. The program will also maintain and sustain existing applications to ensure operational continuity throughout modernization.
The Database Engineer will play an important role in maintaining and optimizing PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon RDS, supporting database migrations, improving performance and availability, and collaborating with the platform engineering team.
Manage application-level database administration for three PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon RDS.
Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning, and optimization activities.
Verify database backups and support improvements to database availability and reliability, including a single-Availability Zone (AZ) instance.
Support the platform engineering team with projection schemas and change-data-capture (CDC) configuration.
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure database solutions support application modernization and ongoing production operations.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of experience administering PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
Hands-on experience with database migrations and performance tuning.
Experience with Amazon RDS or equivalent managed database services.
Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Debezium or PostgreSQL logical replication.
Familiarity with AWS GovCloud environments.
Work Location and Schedule
Location: Remote
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The team operates in two-week sprints, with a customer demonstration each sprint.
Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 annual base salary, depending on experience.
