We're ready to train the right candidate.Position Overview As a Davenport machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, tooling, operating, inspecting, and ensuring process and quality control during the production of precision parts.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, adjust, and operate basic to advanced machine tools.Machine parts to specification with precision and accuracy.Use instruments such as micrometers and calipers to measure dimensions and tolerances.Monitor machine operations to ensure proper speeds and feeds.Select appropriate tools and materials for each job.Perform inspections and use statistical process control data.Maintain machinery by applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, and metal properties.Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.General DutiesFollow all company processes and procedures.Maintain a safe work environment and comply with OSHA, DEC, EPA, and other regulations.Contribute ideas to improve processes and product quality.Preferred Experience. API is committed to training our employees to be a successful machinist, the following experience is preferred.Knowledge of machining tools, their functions, and maintenance.Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of parts.Understanding of raw materials and manufacturing processes.Understanding basic mathematical concepts and problem-solving using logic.Solid mechanical aptitude.Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.Essential Physical RequirementsPush, pull, lift, or move materials up to 75 pounds.Precisely use visual and manual measuring tools and gauges, often on small or intricate parts.Able to frequently stand, bend, and move throughout the shift to perform various tasks.Key Work TraitsAttention to Detail: Focused and thorough in completing tasks.Independence: Able to take initiative and manage tasks autonomously.Initiative: Willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.Adaptability: Comfortable with change and variety in tasks.Achievement-Oriented: Driven to meet goals and master tasks.EducationHSD or GEDBenefitsCompetitive benefits package including 401k, Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off.Additional Shift InformationBase wage is determined by experience.
