Compensation: $18.36 - $20.27 / hour
Description
Schedule: 40 hours per week | 8am - 4:30pm | Monday - Friday
Department: Day Center | PACE of Southwest Michigan | St. Joseph, MI
What You'll Do: The CNA certified Participant Care Assistant (PCA) in the day center provides essential care and assistance to participants enrolled in the PACE program. You will work closely with the team to deliver compassionate, person-centered care and support activities of daily living. From assisting with ADLs to providing comfort and companionship, your work will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Hands-On Care - Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Support Mealtime- Help participants enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.
Keep Things Moving - Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
Perform Vital Checks - Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
Maintain Comfort & Care - Keep rooms tidy, cozy, and well-stocked with essentials.
Provide Responsive Support - Handle cares and respond with kindness and compassion.
Monitor with Watchful Eyes - Report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.
Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism - Maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise: CNA certification, required.
One (1) year of prior experience with frail or elderly individuals, aiding with daily living activities.
Completion of the Participant Care Assistant (PCA) program at PACE of Southwest Michigan or an equivalent training program if not a Certified Nurse Assistant.
Valid Michigan Driver's License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Current CPR or BLS certification or willing to obtain.
Ability to work independently, multitask, and operate as part of an interdisciplinary team.
