Danville Community School CorporationNotice of VacancyPosition: Cleaning StaffLocation: Danville Community School CorporationQualifications:High School diploma or equivalentKnowledge of cleaning materials, chemicals and equipmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with both adults and childrenSupport the philosophy and mission of Danville Community School CorporationPerformance Responsibilities:Performs a variety of duties involving cleaning, and other routine cleaning procedures. (I.e. light painting, removal of graffiti).Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, offices, stairways, and other areas.Sweeps, mops and scrubs floors; waxes, buffs, strips wax, and polishes floors and furniture, vacuums and shampoos carpets, dusts furniture/etc. removes mildew, and replaces supplies as directed.Disposes of waste paper; facilitates recycling activities, removes gum, washes windows/desks; chalkboards, and power washes areas.Follows building procedures to secure areas of assignment.Replaces light bulbs, makes simple repairs and routine maintenance to cleaning equipment, and reports damages to structure and equipment that require repairs.Sweeps and cleans sidewalks; assists in keeping outside premises in an orderly condition.Adheres to safety guidelines/regulations.Moves furniture/equipment and delivers supplies.All other duties that are customary or as directed by the supervisor.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Other:Performs other such duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Chief Financial Officer.Days/Hours: Works 260 days per year; 8 hours per day second shift (During summer & school breaks hours are 7:30 am -4:00 pm)Salary Range: $10.00 hourly rate to commensurate with experience.Start Date: As soon as possibleContact: (email protected)
