Job description

Debris Field SupervisorTidal Basin has an immediate need for an experienced Debris Field Supervisor to support wildfire debris removal monitoring operations in Tok, Alaska following the Mukluk Fire. This position is responsible for direct supervision of debris monitors in the field and ensuring the quality and accuracy of all monitoring activities. A qualified candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to their team.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise and support field monitors throughout daily operations, visiting assigned monitors multiple times per day to review work, answer questions, and ensure activities are conducted safely and correctlyQA/QC debris monitor work including load tickets, field logs, and 214 Daily Activity LogsEnsure monitors are working in correct areas on authorized private properties with valid Right-of-Entry documentation and approved debris removal sitesVerify contractors are removing only eligible Mukluk Fire debris and adhering to all program requirementsAssist monitors with electronic ticket process and troubleshoot issues in the fieldAttend daily safety meetings and reinforce safety topics with field monitorsAssist with morning sign in procedures and daily musterResolve conflicts that arise in a professional and respectful mannerEnforce program guidance and information passed down from the operations managerAssist operations manager with training and remediation as neededMaintain project tools, equipment, and paperworkFollow all health and safety guidelines in performance of work activitiesComplete all required trainingSkills and CompetenciesThe candidate should possess the following:Proven ability to supervise and lead a field team effectively and positivelyStrong understanding of FEMA Public Assistance debris removal programs and PPDR requirementsAbility to answer monitor questions on eligibility and debris monitoring best practicesPositive, professional, and courteous approach with residents, contractors, and state officialsBasic proficiency with Windows based laptop and tablet including troubleshooting common issuesGood teamwork and communication skillsAbility to follow and enforce safety protocols and program requirementsAbility to communicate verbally in English and write legiblyAbility to pass a drug screen, motor vehicle, and criminal background checkValid state driver's licenseCell phone with vehicle chargerAbility to drive and work in remote Alaska outdoor conditions including variable weather, smoke, dust, and uneven terrainEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrior debris monitoring experience requiredPrior debris field supervisor experience strongly preferredWork ScheduleAble to work as early as 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. seven days a week during the response periodOccasional hours of 12 to 14 hours per day during peak operationsAble to work up to 100 hours per week as needed including weekendsJob Description Disclaimer This position description incorporates the job's core responsibilities.
