At least one (1) Declassification Specialist must hold a personnel security clearance read-on to Critical Nuclear Weapon Design Information (CNWDI) and Restricted Data/Formerly Restricted Data (RD/FRD) , and must be certified by the Department of Energy (DoE) to conduct declassification reviews at time of proposal submission.Please address CNWDI/RD/FRD access status and DoE certification in your application.

Taurean is hiring a Declassification Specialist to support the client's mandatory, systematic, and automatic declassification programs on-site in Doral, Florida. These positions are included within the Information Security Specialist team and focus on the full lifecycle of declassification review — from tracking classified records to conducting line-by-line redaction reviews, processing MDR/ADR/SDR requests, and submitting materials for NARA release.

Standard hours are 0600–1800, Monday through Friday , excluding Federal holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with declassification requests (MDR, ADR, SDR, Ad Hoc); review requests and identify their nature including investigations and legal proceedings

Conduct line-by-line review of documents for redaction related to MDR requests

Assist with original and derivative classification and the mandatory/systematic/automatic declassification programs utilizing established guides; apply appropriate markings and redactions to prevent unauthorized disclosure

Certified by Department of Energy (DoE) to conduct reviews and identify DoE-related information (at least one specialist); hold personnel security clearance read-on to CNWDI and RD/FRD to prevent unauthorized disclosure of DoE classified information

Track classified information from origination to its 20-year mark; submit for government approval for release to NARA

Track declassification requests from date of request to suspension or release; log incorrect disposition decisions and referrals to other agencies

Quality Control & Error Tracking

Develop and maintain an internal quality control/review program to ensure services are performed within accepted government practices; identify and prevent defective casework

Maintain a list of substantive errors and unacceptable review findings; monitor and correct through the contractor's quality control procedures

Classification Management & Repository

Assist with preparing Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and maintaining the SCG library

Establish and maintain an information repository/tracking system to document Classification/Declassification Guides, prepublication/security reviews, security incidents, DD Form 254s, appointed Contract Monitors, designated OCAs, and declassification authorities; repository must be searchable and facilitate review

Collect Annual Agency Classification Management Report data quarterly; review for accuracy and resolve discrepancies; maintain databases/spreadsheets; prepare reports for inclusion in the Annual Agency Classification Management Report/Data Call

Assist with conducting prepublication and security reviews; provide recommendations and identify equities for referrals

General Information Security Support

Conduct security walk-throughs and inspections to ensure compliance; make on-the-spot corrections; report incidents IAW local policy; provide monthly and annual reports

Assist with security staff assistance visits, surveys, assessments, and quarterly meetings; document observations and results IAW applicable procedures

Provide weekly activity reports (WAR) to the COR capturing activities and status

Travel OCONUS as required to conduct Security Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and security assessments

Required Qualifications

Currently active, adjudicated Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility — required at time of application. Candidates without this clearance will not be considered.

Background investigation must be a Tier 5 completed within the past five (5) years; NATO access required. Interim Top Secret clearances acceptable.

U.S. Citizenship required — no exceptions. Must pass E-Verify employment eligibility screening prior to performance.

No clearance sponsorship available. Clearance will be verified prior to offer.

Trained and experienced in mandatory, systematic, and automatic declassification processes

Knowledge of Executive Order declassification authorities and applicable DoD/IC declassification directives

Knowledge of governing laws, regulations, precedents, and directives governing DoD security programs

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)

Strong written communication skills; ability to produce accurate, thorough declassification review documentation

Special Access & DoE Certification (At Least One of Two Specialists)

At least one (1) of the two Declassification Specialists must hold the following at time of proposal submission:

Personnel Security Clearance Read-On to CNWDI Personnel Security Clearance Read-On to RD/FRD DoE Certification to Conduct Declassification Reviews

Candidates holding CNWDI/RD/FRD access and DoE certification are strongly preferred and will be prioritized. Please clearly indicate these accesses and certifications in your application and include supporting documentation.

Mandatory Training (Post-Hire)

Anti-Terrorism (AT) Level I — within 30 days of start; annual refresh required

OPSEC Awareness Training — per contract OPSEC SOP/Plan

DoD IA Cyber Awareness / ATCTS registration — within 30 days of start; annual refresh

Threat Awareness Reporting Program (TARP) — within 30 days of start; annual refresh

iWATCH — within 15 days of start

SERE 100.1 Code of Conduct — required prior to any OCONUS travel

Work Conditions

On-site position located in Doral, FL — in-person attendance required; personnel conducting destruction services will also work in the Installation Services Building (Media Destruction Center)

Standard hours: 0600–1800, Monday–Friday, excluding Federal holidays

OCONUS travel may be required for Security Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and security assessments; frequency based on mission demand

Surge capability required: up to 250 overtime hours per year; KO preapproval within 48 hours

Government-issued contractor identification badge must be worn and visible at all times

Annual drug testing required at contractor's expense

Professional appearance required at all times per applicable standards
