Delivery & Assembly SupervisorDiakon Logistics provides white-glove, last-mile delivery solutions for leading furniture and appliance retailers nationwide. Come join our growing company, where we are deeply committed to our employees' development and fostering an internal promotional structure that rewards dedication and growth.We are seeking an experienced Delivery & Assembly Supervisor to assess the quality and performance of our furniture delivery and assembly operations. This role is critical in ensuring customer satisfaction, contractor accountability, and operational excellence across all delivery teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as a furniture delivery and assembly contractor and possess the expertise to validate and manage third-party contractor performance.Key ResponsibilitiesContractor Validation & Onboarding Evaluate and validate the qualifications, experience, and work quality of new delivery contractors, drivers, and assembly helpers before engagementDevelop and implement standardized assessment criteria for contractor performance evaluationQuality Assurance & Ride-Along Audits Conduct regular ride-along observations with delivery and assembly teams to assess performance, identify gaps, and ensure compliance with company standardsDocument observations and provide detailed performance feedback to contractors and internal teamsMonitor safe handling practices, customer interactions, and assembly accuracy during field visitsPerformance Monitoring & Reporting Track key performance metrics including delivery timeliness, damage rates, assembly quality, and customer satisfaction scoresGenerate comprehensive quality reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvementIdentify trends in performance issues and develop corrective action plansTraining & Development Provide coaching and training to contractors and teams on company standards, best practices, and quality expectationsShare best practices across the contractor network to improve overall performanceCustomer Satisfaction & Issue Resolution Investigate customer complaints related to delivery and assembly qualityWork with contractors to resolve issues and prevent recurring problemsRequired QualificationsMinimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a furniture delivery and/or assembly contractorDemonstrated ability to evaluate and validate work quality of delivery and assembly operationsProven experience conducting ride-along audits or field assessments of contractor/driver performanceStrong knowledge of furniture delivery best practices, safety protocols, and assembly standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to drive frequently and travel to field locationsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordStrong organizational and documentation skillsPreferred QualificationsExtensive hands-on experience delivering and assembling furniture in a residential, white-glove environment, ideally combined with a lead roleExperience with delivery management softwareBackground in training and mentoring teamsPersonal AttributesDetail-oriented and committed to quality excellenceStrong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skillsCollaborative approach to working with internal teams and external contractorsProfessional demeanor and ability to provide constructive feedbackCommitment to continuous improvement and industry best practicesPhysical RequirementsAbility to ride along on delivery and assembly calls, which may require sitting in vehicles for extended periodsAbility to observe assembly work, which may require standing, bending, or brief physical exertionAbility to frequently travel to field locations throughout the service areaSalary: $55,000 - $65,000/year, DOE; plus bonus potentialDiakon offers vehicle allowance for field travel, competitive wages and bonuses, medical benefits, 401(k) plan with match, and paid vacations and holidays to full-time employees.
