Job description
Dental AssistantThe Dental Assistant will assist the Dentist in providing quality dental care of adult and pediatric patients in their general dentistry practice.Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Included But Not Limited To The Following):Assists the Dentist with any dental procedures and ensures appropriate supplies and equipment are available to perform care.Responsible to set up and prepare dental treatment rooms.Process and sterilize dental instruments between patient visits.Make patients feel comfortable in dental chair.Ensures appropriate forms for documentation are included in dental records, and maintains confidentiality, security, filing and physical safety of dental records.Pull and files patient charts on a daily basis.Prepares new charts and maintains a predetermined organized dental record format.Order and take inventory of dental supplies.Autoclaves dental instruments and disinfects examination area as required by OSHA.Prepares materials for and restorations, expose radiographs and process dental x-ray films as directed by a dentist.Familiarity with digital x-rays.Participates in Quality Improvement Program.Schedule and confirm appointments, comfortable answering telephone.Triaging dental emergencies.Comfortable with seeing children.QualificationsMust have excellent interpersonal/oral communication skills.Must have good typing and computer skills.Must carry a professional demeanor at all times.Must have at least 1 year experience in a public health setting.Current CPR Certification required.Education RequirementsCertificate of Dental Assistant from an accredited education institution, preferred.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.Working ConditionsClinical Setting.TCA Benefits: 401K Retirement Savings Plan and up to a 4% match; Medical Insurance- employer pays 85% of single HMO rate.
