Job description

Dental AssistantAt PanCare of Florida, we're not just shaping smiles; we're transforming lives. If you're passionate about oral health, love working in a dynamic environment, and are ready to be an essential part of a team that makes a real difference, then we want to meet you!In this role, you will assist the dentist during examination and treatment of patients.This position is located at our Chipley Dental Clinic.Your responsibilities include the following:Provide diagnostic aid, including exposing and developing radiographs, taking and recording medical and dental histories, recording vital signs and taking alginate impressions and pouring study castsPerform prophylaxis and fluoride treatments on children and deliver oral hygiene instructions to child and parentsPrepare operatory, instruments, and patient for dental treatmentMay apply topical anesthesia as recommended/required preparation for dental procedures to be performed by the dentistClean and sterilize instruments, equipment, operatories and laboratory as patient flow or procedures dictateDeliver post-operative instructions to the patient as prescribed by the dentistPossess a working knowledge of medical emergencies and assist in the management of themAssist dentist in screening and education programs, including off-siteAssist the front desk staff when necessary to schedule patients, answer phones, and use the computerRestock operatories, order supplies, and maintain inventory controlMaintain dental equipment, autoclave, x-ray equipment and water system at specified intervalsRequired Qualifications:Certification of completion of Dental Assistant trainingExcellent communication skills, written and oralAt least 6 months experience in a dental environmentPreferred Qualifications:At least 2 years experience as a Dental AssistantExpanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)certificationPanCare provides a comprehensive benefits package to include medical, dental, and vision insurance.
