Job description
Dental AssistantResponsibilities of this career opportunity include performing chair side assistance and support to dentists, as well as general office clerical and administrative support tasks. This position assists in: maintaining inventory; dental instruments; equipment; supplies; and coordinating patient flow, including patient appointments. The Dental Assistant maintains patient charts including patient information, current health history and dental charting. Performs cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of equipment and instruments to prescribed standards. Prepares operatories, equipment and armamentarium for dental procedures, cleaning and disinfection of operatories to prescribed standards. Takes and records patient vital signs and exposes dental radiographs.The right person for this career opportunity has the following required knowledge, skills, and experience typically required of this opportunity which are acquired through a combination of education and experience. This career opportunity requires: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Must be able to obtain dental radiography certification within six (6) months of employment. Experience and/or certification in dental assisting preferred.
