Dental AssistantWe are seeking a qualified and caring Dental Assistant to join our team at the Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS). As a Dental Assistant, you will provide top-notch dental care that makes our clients feel like family. You will provide assistance to the dentist during exams and procedures and complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments.Responsibilities:Welcome patients into the treatment area and make them feel comfortableDiscuss the dental care plan with patients and answer any questions they haveTake vital signs and accurately record medical historyPrep sterilized equipment and make it available to the dentist for exams and proceduresAssist the dentist during procedures and examsAdhere to all health and safety regulations and office policiesSchedule appointmentsQualifications:A one (1) year dental assistant program accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).Assistants must possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a dental assistant.Dental Radiological Certificate is mandatory.Dental Assistants are required to hold a current BLS and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificationA valid Tuberculosis (TB) test is also required.Strong computer and data entry skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to provide high-quality patient careCompensation: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
