Dental AssistantNaphCare is hiring experienced Dental Assistants to join our team of healthcare professionals at the Washoe County Jail in Reno, NV.We currently have PRN positions available, offering flexibility for experienced Dental Assistants interested in bringing their skills into a unique healthcare environment. Pay for this position is $20.90–$22.00/hr.As a Correctional Dental Assistant, you'll work alongside our Dentist, healthcare team, and correctional staff to provide quality dental care to our patient population. You'll utilize your dental assisting experience while caring for patients with a variety of dental and healthcare needs in a safe, structured clinical environment.ResponsibilitiesAs a Dental Assistant, your responsibilities may include:Assisting the Dentist with patient care, procedures, instruments, supplies, and documentationPreparing patients for dental procedures and assisting during treatmentSterilizing and disinfecting dental instruments and equipmentEnsuring the dental suite is clean, organized, and properly stockedAssisting with dental sick-call requests, triage, scheduling, and patient recordsEducating patients on dental procedures and oral hygiene practicesTaking and developing X-raysAssisting with dental laboratory functions and other administrative duties as neededQualificationsRequirements / QualificationsCompletion of a one or two-year dental assistant program at a vocational school or community collegeMaintain the proper training and unrestricted certification as a Dental AssistantHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Be able to obtain CPR certificationAble to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
