Dental Front Office AssistantAdelante Healthcare Buckeye - Buckeye, AZ 85326OverviewPosition Type Full Time Education Level HS Diploma from accredited school Category Health CareDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Dental Front Office Assistant is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for providing direct customer service to patients and administrative support. Employees are expected to work in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to quality, patient safety, employee engagement, innovation, and the highest standards of personal integrity, professionalism, and competence.OUR CORE VALUESInclusionNurtureServicePurposefulIntegrityResilientEngagedQualificationsESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Certification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and Red Cross (cognitive and skills evaluations)Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locationsHigh school diploma or GED from an accredited institutionMinimum two (2) years of dental office experienceKnowledge of dental terminology and proceduresKnowledge of dental insurance, eligibility and verificationExceptional communication skills and professional presenceAbility to problem solve in situations both independently or with support from team and/or leadershipIntermediate computer efficiency to include proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and Patient Management SystemAdvanced office skills: typing and telephone answeringPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL:Greet all patients and visitors. Assist patients and visitors with questions, directing them to the appropriate person as necessaryAssist patients in resolving minor difficulties, answering their questions and giving directions to patients as authorized by the Dental Providers.Responsible for receiving and placing phone calls and addressing patient or caller's inquiriesSchedule patient appointments, manage the dental schedule efficiently and confirm upcoming patient appointmentsCollect and update patient information accurately in the electronic health records systemScan documents into the electronic health records systemVerify dental insurance coverage and benefits – Commercial, AHCCCS, Medicare, Sliding Fee ScaleProcessing patient payments and reviewing the financial dental treatment planAssist with administrative duties – daily reports, faxing, emailing and reviewing and preparing inbound and outgoing mailCollaborate with dental providers and back-office staff to ensure seamless patient care and effective workflowMaintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and patient lobbyMaintain daily productivity reports and forward information to the finance departmentMaintain an adequate amount of updated patient formsMaintain an adequate inventory of office supplies while maintaining a list of supply shortages for inventory control and ordering purposesAbility to travel to other dental locations to support organizational needsNONESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Ability to communicate in more than one languageAdditional Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties as requested or assignedPatient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Integrated Care Team (ICT)All employees are responsible for promoting and participating in interdisciplinary communication and collaboration to enhance the delivery of quality across the health care system. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance and may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.In any organization or job, changes take place over time.
