Our mission is to support lifelong oral health habits through compassionate, personalized care, patient education, and a team culture rooted in connection and collaboration. We’re seeking a dedicated General Dentist who focuses solely on adolescent patients to join our supportive, youth‑centered practice.

Position Summary

As a full‑time Associate General Dentist with an adolescent focus at Smile Lodge, you will provide comprehensive dental care tailored specifically to the unique needs of the Greater Albany pediatric population. Your work will emphasize preventive care, education, and age‑appropriate communication to help patients build confidence and ownership over their oral health. You’ll collaborate closely with a passionate clinical and administrative team to ensure a consistent, engaging, and supportive experience for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive dental care for adolescent patients, including exams, cleanings, preventive services (fluoride, sealants), restorative treatments, and basic adolescent‑focused procedures.

Create a comfortable, respectful environment for preteens and teens by communicating in a clear, relatable, and reassuring manner.

Support positive dental experiences that reduce anxiety and promote independence and confidence in adolescent patients.

Educate patients and caregivers on oral health, hygiene habits, nutrition, and treatment options appropriate for adolescent development.

Work collaboratively with hygienists, dental assistants, and front‑desk team members to deliver coordinated, high‑quality care.

Participate in practice initiatives that enhance patient experience, team culture, and community engagement.

Uphold Smile Lodge’s joyful, compassionate culture—balancing professionalism with approachability and fun.

Qualifications

DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.

Current or eligible New York State dental licensure.

Experience working with adolescent patients strongly preferred.

2+ years of clinical practice experience preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with teens, caregivers, and team members.

Genuine interest in adolescent oral health and patient education.

Ability to thrive in a lively, interactive, and team‑oriented practice environment.
