Job description
Summary
The Department Manager is responsible for creating a memorable customer shopping experience while generating revenue and positive operating profit for the assigned department. This role leads sales and profit performance, staff development, loss prevention, and in-store presentation.
Responsibilities
Achieve sales, margin, and profit goals for the assigned department.
Partner with store leadership to set goals, develop budgets, and monitor performance.
Train, supervise, coach, and mentor employees to improve sales and results.
Implement loss prevention procedures and support store shrinkage goals.
Execute promotional strategies and visual directives while maintaining presentation standards.
Monitor competition and market trends, and provide input on merchandise presentation.
Requirements
Retail management experience preferred.
Strong business acumen and communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and develop staff through teamwork, negotiation, and coaching.
Ability to maintain an environment consistent with the brand's lifestyle philosophy.
