Department ManagerCome work with a great team!The department managers are primarily responsible for the daily retail operations of their assigned departments. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Provide legendary customer service in their departmentMaintain optimum inventory levels to ensure service of our customer as well as maximum turn and profitPricingMerchandising and displayPlace necessary merchandise ordersOversee receiving, pricing, and bin tagging of department merchandiseHandle department-related customer complaints as needed; courteously, timely and discreetlyOversee special departmental ordersTraining of assigned store personnelKnowledge of overall store policies, procedures and goals and how his/her assigned department affects and is affected by themAbility to motivate and lead assigned staffKnowledge of management responsibilities and ability to serve as back-up for General Manager or Assistant Store Manager, filling in for same as neededAttend and participate in store meetingsOther tasks and responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager, or ownersGreet and assist customers on the sales floorResolve customer claims and complaints in a manner that is timely, courteous and discreetSet a positive example by following company proceduresEnsure that departmental sales staff are ready for all promotionsResolve any IT issuesNotice to Applicant about this Employer: You are applying for a job with an independently owned cooperative member of Ace Hardware Corporation, who operates this Ace Hardware store, not Ace Hardware Corporation.
