Job description
City of San Luis Obispo is seeking a Deputy Fire Chief who is a strong communicator, direct, calm, and consistent. The candidate should mentor and coach staff, read people and situations well, and project integrity through ethical behavior and sound judgment.
The position requires a four-year degree in fire science or related field, seven years as a firefighter with at least three in supervision, and desirable Chief Fire Officer certifications.
