Job description
Produce detailed 3D CAD models and finished manufacturing drawings.
Define material specifications, surface finishes, and dimensional tolerances.
Prepare formal engineering release and revision documentation.
Assist with fabrication orders and provide technical support during the manufacturing and assembly phases.
Minimum Qualifications
Active Secret security clearance (Interim Secret is acceptable to start).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical product design, with a strong focus on machined components (rather than plastics, molding, or sheet metal).
At least 4 years of hands-on experience utilizing SolidWorks for 3D CAD design.
Proven experience designing complex assemblies in areas such as electronic packaging, opto-mechanics, mechanisms, or structural components.
Strong working knowledge of conventional machining fabrication techniques and design for manufacturability.
Deep understanding of the ASME Y14 family of standards, specifically ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (or 9+ years of equivalent experience).
Familiarity with design standards for aerospace, defense, or ground support systems.
Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes.
Willingness to upgrade to a Top Secret clearance in the future.
