Job Title: Design Program Manager Design Change AdministrationJob Description

nThe Design Program Manager Design Change Administration oversees and streamlines the design bulletin system and manages building design changes across multiple projects. This role coordinates closely with architects, engineers, construction teams, and project managers to ensure design modifications are accurately documented, efficiently implemented, and fully aligned with project objectives and regulatory requirements. The position suits a proactive design professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balances design and business needs, and maintains high standards of organization while managing multiple concurrent design changes.

nResponsibilities

nnnManage and maintain the design bulletin system, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and distribution of all design changes.

nnCoordinate with architects, engineers, construction teams, and project managers to facilitate timely and effective implementation of design changes.

n

nnCreate and maintain project schedules and timelines related to design modifications, ensuring alignment with overall project plans.

n

nnPrepare, organize, and maintain comprehensive documentation for all design changes, including logs, records, and supporting materials.

n

nnLead design change review meetings, present proposed changes, and facilitate structured decision-making processes among stakeholders.

n

nnDevelop, implement, and refine standardized processes and procedures for design change management across projects.

n

nnMonitor project budgets and resource allocation associated with design modifications, and escalate risks or variances as needed.

n

nnGenerate regular status reports and updates for stakeholders, summarizing design changes, impacts, risks, and mitigation plans.

n

nnEnsure that all design changes comply with applicable building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

n

nnManage and process Requests for Information (RFIs) related to design issues, ensuring timely responses and clear documentation.

n

nnOversee the issuance of design bulletins and related communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and traceability.

n

nnMaintain and manage design and project-related databases in a construction design environment, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

n

nnCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate design data management practices into broader project management workflows.

n

nnApply overarching project management principles to balance schedule, cost, quality, and risk in the context of design changes.

n

nnUse project management and design software tools to plan, track, and report on design change activities.

n

n nEssential Skills

nnnBachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

n

nnAt least 5 years of experience in design or construction project management.

n

nnStrong understanding of building design and construction processes, including how design changes impact construction activities.

n

nnProven track record of successful project delivery and design change management in a construction or design environment.

n

nnExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple design changes and priorities simultaneously.

n

nnStrong documentation skills, including precise record-keeping and clear written communication.

n

nnProficiency in project management and design software tools.

n

nnDemonstrated ability to manage RFIs, issue design bulletins, and maintain design-related databases.

n

nnAttention to detail and accuracy in tracking, documenting, and communicating design changes.

n

nnStrong reporting skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, and actionable status reports for stakeholders.

n

nnCore project management skills, including planning, scheduling, risk awareness, and stakeholder communication.

n

nnAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

n nAdditional Skills & Qualifications

nnnExperience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360) or similar construction design platforms.

n

nnFamiliarity with Smartsheet or comparable project tracking and collaboration tools.

n

nnExperience with construction design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and change documentation.

n

nnBackground in building design combined with strong project management and business-focused decision-making.

n

nnExperience in design data management within construction or design projects.

n

nnAbility to develop and refine standardized processes for design change administration.

n

nnComfort working with digital databases and structured data in a construction design context.

n

nnWillingness and ability to learn new construction technology platforms if not already proficient.

n nWork Environment

nThis position operates in a virtual and remote work environment. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, construction professionals, and project managers through digital platforms and online communication tools. The role relies heavily on project management and design software, construction design documentation systems, and cloud-based collaboration tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360) and Smartsheet. Work is fast-paced and detail-oriented, with a strong emphasis on accurate digital record-keeping, structured online meetings, and consistent remote communication across distributed teams. Dress expectations are generally aligned with a professional remote setting, with more formal attire as needed for video meetings with key stakeholders.

nPay and Benefits

nThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.

nIndividual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
