nJob Description:
nParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Manager - Nuclear Facilities to join our team! In this role you will get to lead a multidisciplinary design team to design the next generation of nuclear fuel production and waste processing facilities .
nWhat You'll Be Doing:
nnnApplying your knowledge of nuclear facility regulations and engineering industry practices to lead a team on engineers, architects, designers, BIM specialist, and technical support staff in the design of new nuclear facilities.
n
nnGenerating discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules.
n
nnMaintaining appropriate staffing levels, including temporary personnel, as needed.
n
nnGenerating staff forecasting reports.
n
nnManaging all engineering and design efforts for all disciplines required to complete assigned projects.
n
nnCoordinating all discipline staffing requirements for assigned projects.
n
nnMonitoring the quality and progress of each discipline on assigned projects, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied.
n
nnWorking closely with Project Manager(s) to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance, or productivity.
n
nnEstablishing design standards and procedures for as needed for assigned projects and recommends improvements to department procedures.
n
nnEnsuring that new employees on assigned projects receive orientation on project-specific policies and procedures.
n
nnSupporting pre-contract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant.
n
nnEnsuring performance within budgets authorized for the discipline.
n
nnActively participating in and promoting quality improvement.
n
nnPerforming other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
n
n nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:
nnnBachelor's degree in engineering (ABET accredited), Nuclear or Chemical Engineering preferred
n
nn15+ years of work experience in production of PE sealed Issued for Construction design documents (drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, etc.)
n
nn8+ years progressive supervisory/managerial experience in design management, including management of multidisciplinary design teams of 50+ individuals producing PE sealed Issued for Construction design documents
n
nnPrior design management experience on projects with total installed costs over $100M USD
n
nnThorough knowledge of DoE and NRC nuclear regulations and regulatory approvals process and prior experience successfully obtaining an NRC Facility Operating License or DOE Safety Basis Approval
n
nnProfessional Engineer registration
n
n nWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:
nnnActive membership in a professional engineering society desired
n
nnKnowledge of Autodesk products including Revit, Civil3D, Plant3D, and

nnThorough knowledge of design service contracts under Federal Acquisition Regulations
n

nSalary Range: $134,100.00 - $241,400.00
