Job description

Location: Woodbury, CT | Schedule: Full-Time, Permanent, Direct Hire, On-Site, Day Shift Monday – Friday | Compensation: Base rate determined during interview process based on clinical background, leadership experience, and selected shift/Baylor structure

Overview

An established, mission-driven senior healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking two collaborative, clinically skilled Daytime RN Desk Nurses / Assistant Unit Managers to partner directly with Lead Unit Managers in driving unit operations. This dual clinical-administrative leadership role involves working side-by-side with the Lead Unit Manager to oversee daily care delivery, clinical documentation, physician order processing, and unit workflows across designated resident units (one dedicated to the upstairs two units, one dedicated to the downstairs two units). This opportunity is ideal for an experienced long-term care RN seeking a structured, Monday through Friday daytime management role without full solo administrative burden.

What you'll do

Work alongside the Lead Unit Manager to coordinate daily unit operations, shift reports, and clinical nursing workflows across two assigned units

Review, process, and reconcile physician orders, lab results, diagnostic reports, and pharmacy profiles to ensure rapid, accurate clinical execution

Function as a primary liaison between attending physicians, interdisciplinary therapy teams, families, and floor nursing staff to align resident care plans

Assist with comprehensive resident clinical assessments, care planning updates, routine family updates, and hospital discharge preparation

Model clinical standards and provide ongoing coaching, documentation support, and daily guidance to floor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs

Maintain meticulous EMR documentation standards in compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations and internal facility QAPI benchmarks

Required qualifications

Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut required

Minimum of 2 to 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC) setting, including demonstrated supervisory, charge nurse, desk nurse, or unit management experience

Exceptional administrative multitasking abilities, order reconciliation skills, and detail orientation to manage two active clinical units

High proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems (e.g., PointClickCare) for care planning, order entries, and audit compliance

Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, facility leadership, nursing teams, and resident families

Compensation and benefits

Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans with robust employee well-being and support resources

Employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement plan offering Traditional and Roth options with a 100% match up to 2% of contributions (plus an additional 1% match potential based on eligibility)

Generous accrued PTO program combining vacation, personal, and sick time, with accrual rates based on length of service

Connecticut Paid Sick Leave accruing at 1 hour per 30 hours worked (up to 40 hours annually)

6 paid company holidays per year

Annual course and tuition reimbursement of up to $4,000 per year for eligible full-time employees

Job offers are contingent upon successful completion of standard pre-employment background checks, Connecticut state nursing license verifications, health clearances, and drug screenings

Flexible weekend shift options available

Why this role

This is a structured, Monday through Friday daytime management opportunity for an experienced long-term care RN to share clinical-administrative leadership duties with a Lead Unit Manager, without carrying the full solo administrative burden.
