Job description
Annual Salary: $51,780 - $55,568
As a Rutherford County Detention Officer at the Juvenile Detention Center in Rutherford County, TN, you help maintain a safe, secure setting that supports the welfare of youth in custody. Diverse backgrounds welcome-bring your transferable skills, and we'll train you on facility-specific procedures.
Key responsibilities include enforcing facility rules and regulations; processing and supervising detainees; observing behavior and responding with crisis intervention and conflict resolution; coordinating food, medical care, and supplies; transporting detainees; and completing documentation, records, and incident reports using standard software and Microsoft Office.
Required skills/qualifications:
Strong observation, communication, and sound judgment
Knowledge of custody/transport and security protocols
Recordkeeping and incident reporting proficiency
