Job description
Development CoordinatorThe Development Coordinator oversees the programmatic coordination of fundraising, stewardship, and alumni relations activities for the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences (CMNS) Development Team, as well as the administrative functions for the team and Chief Development Officer. Key responsibilities include scheduling, expense report creation, briefing development, prospect research, managing the CMNS development team operating budget, and contact report entry as needed. The Development Coordinator leads logistical planning and coordination for internal and external visits with donors and prospects and collaborates on briefing preparation and ad hoc research on funds. They troubleshoot issues that arise related to CMNS foundation funds and communicate directly with donors, faculty, and staff as needed. In collaboration with the Program Director of Donor Relations and the Foundation Office, they help prepare annual departmental fund audits. The Development Coordinator manages student and volunteer participation in CMNS fundraising activities and events. They serve as the primary point of contact for athletic suite events, overseeing ticketing and suite logistics. They also work on logistics for biannual Board of Visitors meetings. The Development Coordinator actively manages the unit's comprehensive budget, supports expense management and reimbursements, and ensures that invoices are paid to the appropriate vendors. They serve as office manager for the CMNS development office, handling administrative functions such as supply ordering and calendaring. The Development Coordinator works both independently and collaboratively within the team. They are mission-driven and results-oriented, detail-oriented, exercise sound judgment in a variety of situations, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and are familiar with Google Workspace, Excel, and prospect management platforms. This person demonstrates excellent administrative and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Ability to work some evenings and weekends as necessary.Preferences: Experience working in non-profit and/or higher education field. Interest in or appreciation for the sciences.Licenses/ Certifications: N/AMinimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional administrative experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of complex philanthropic databases. Knowledge of project planning and management. Knowledge of office administration and organization. Skill in acting with discretion and handling confidential information appropriately. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
