DevOps EngineerDuration: 12 months with possible extensionLocation: McLean, Virginia or Richmond, VirginiaMust work onsite starting week 1 or the offer will be rescinded, no remote for the first few weeksJob Description:Tech stack: SRE, AWS, Golang, Python, Full Stack, Docker, ObservabilityTeam: Enterprise Servicing OrganizationThis organization is focused on SRE practices, internal platform that handles batch processing of customer processes/data Highly available platform and ecosystem, code base on the developer side is Go and Scala and some PythonA good understanding of AWS, SRE, monitoring tools is goodThis team is an extension of the development team who's focus is feature development and bug fixThis person could be contributing to bug fixes, using homegrown Cap1 applications for automated recoveryWant to fully support the platform from a reliability perspectiveKeep an eye on the ecosystem, wrangle the dev team if there are issuesTop skills:Reliability and operations mindset (focus on how to make the platform better)Observability (quality of success/customer experience)Some development with python or go or Scala Would be ok to have a blend, likely can't find someone with all 3, he knows thatOpen for learning new skills and leveling upTrying to break the ecosystem on purpose, host a gameday, this is what we are doing, take it back to the dev team, what do they need to re-code or path to takeHigher focus is the mindset operations and systems behaviorKeen eye for figuring out ways to fix and break things on purposeLearning pain points in the ecosystem
