Job description
Make a positive impact supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, working in a dynamic and flexible educational environment just outside Boston. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through March 2026, with the option to discuss an extension through June during the contract period. Enjoy part-time hours, typically between 10-15 per week, with the district open to flexibly assigning caseloads and age groups tailored to your preferences.
Step into a collaborative role, partnering with the district's full-time Teacher of the Deaf to help manage a growing caseload. You'll have the unique chance to shape your assignment and make a difference across multiple school settings.
What you'll bring:
Current Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification
Experience or training as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in school environments
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with students, staff, and families
Comfort adapting to a flexible schedule and caseload
Day-to-day responsibilities: Deliver specialized instructional support and advocacy for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Collaborate with the existing Teacher of the Deaf to coordinate services and ensure student needs are met
Consult with school staff and families to promote student success in inclusive settings
Contribute to individualized education plans and maintain thorough documentation of student progress
Communicate proactively with the district regarding your preferred age groups, caseload, and school placements
