Job description
Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by supporting learners who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a welcoming, inclusive school environment. Located near Spanaway, this contract role offers a unique chance to work with a small caseload, allowing for more individualized support and deeper connections with your students.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Washington state teaching license with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
Experience or training in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to tailor instructional strategies to various learning needs and styles
Committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere
Core Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, adapting lessons to individual needs
Collaborate with general education staff, support teams, and families to develop and implement IEPs
Monitor student progress, documenting growth and adjusting instructional approaches as necessary
Engage in ongoing communication with parents/guardians to update on progress and foster support
Participate in school-wide professional development and team meetings
