Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center is seeking a full-time Diabetes Care & Education Specialist to join our multidisciplinary diabetes care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a healthcare professional who enjoys developing ongoing relationships with patients, working closely with diabetes providers, and helping people successfully manage diabetes using education, lifestyle strategies, medications, and the latest diabetes technology.

This position is primarily based in Idaho Falls and requires working 1–2 days per week in our Pocatello office .

We offer a competitive wage based on education, credentials, and experience , with higher compensation for individuals who have earned the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) credential. ABOUT ROCKY MOUNTAIN DIABETES CENTER

Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center provides comprehensive, individualized, leading-edge care to people of all ages and with all types of diabetes. Our Diabetes Care & Education Specialists work closely with endocrinologists and other providers and have the opportunity to work extensively with the latest diabetes technologies, including continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and automated insulin delivery systems .

We are a family-oriented organization that values our employees , encouraging professional development, and striving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a Diabetes Care & Education Specialist, you will work directly with people with diabetes and their families, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to successfully manage diabetes.

Your day may include educating someone who has been newly diagnosed, training a patient on a new insulin pump or CGM, reviewing glucose and insulin-delivery data, teaching a group class, or helping a family manage a child's type 1 diabetes.

You will collaborate closely with physicians and other providers and provide education related to medications, nutrition, physical activity, diabetes technology, risk reduction, problem-solving, healthy coping, and behavior change . Education is provided through individual appointments, group classes, telehealth, and telephone support.

Our specialists also rotate through diabetes-related telephone support and participate in an on-call rotation , primarily supporting newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes patients and families. Other opportunities may include school and workplace training, community education, clinical research support, mentoring students, and developing patient education materials.

Because we maintain an ADA-recognized diabetes education program , the position also includes patient goal setting, follow-up, outcome tracking, and documentation in the electronic medical record.

Successful team members are excellent listeners, effective educators, collaborative professionals, and enthusiastic learners who enjoy helping patients use both technology and practical strategies to improve their lives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills

Strong computer and documentation skills

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, approximately 40-hour-per-week position , with the potential for a four-day, 10-hour schedule. The position is primarily based in Idaho Falls, with 1–2 days per week in Pocatello .

Occasional weekend, holiday, or evening hours may be required as part of the on-call schedule or for educational and community activities.
