Newport News, VirginiaHiring Range$34.40 - $47.30/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.Up to $5,000 Sign On Bonus Available!!!!OverviewResponsible for teaching outpatient Diabetes self-management skills and nutritional education in class setting and one-to one.What you will doPlans, prioritizes and implements educational programs which are in compliance with American Diabetes Association, Department guidelines and hospital policies. Effectively communicates with patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.Demonstrates the ability to assess, implement and evaluate treatments and provide appropriate individualized recommendations on the needs of the patients. Consistently demonstrate evidence-based competency in the assessment of the patient and adapts care to meet the individual patients needs.Demonstrates excellent service to patients/families and other customers by providing assistance to their specific needs.QualificationsEducationBachelors Degree, Nutrition, Dietetics or Related Field (Required) orProgram Graduate, Nursing (Required) andHigh School Diploma or GED, Only Required if Nursing Diploma Graduate (Required) orExperience2 years Dietitian Experience (Preferred)If Registered Dietitian, must complete an American Dietitian Association approved internship (Required)2 years Nursing Experience (Preferred)Licenses and CertificationsRegistered Dietician (RD) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Upon Hire(Required) orRegistered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required) andCertified Diabetes Educator (CDE) - National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators required within 2 years.To learn more about being a team member with Riverside Health System visit us at
