nThe mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
nJOB SUMMARY :
nProvides advanced technical skill in setting up and operating artificial kidney machines for treatment of patients with renal failure.
nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
nnnPerforms analysis and isolation of mechanical or electronic malfunctions.
n
nnInspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities.
n
nnDetermines cause of malfunction.
n
nnDisassembles equipment and repairs or replaced defective parts.
n
nnReassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components.
n
nnPerforms preventive maintenance and quality control.
n
nnRecords all work performed such as results of tests, diagnosis and repairs.
n
nnConducts staff training and in-services.
n
nnResponds to home patient problems.
n
nnTrains hemodialysis patients.
n
nnAdheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for department.
n
nnPerforms related duties as required.
n
n nEQUIPMENT :
nArtificial kidney and dialysis delivery systems. Standard laboratory testing and sterilizing devices.
nWORK ENVIRONMENT :
nStandard hospital and/or clinical environment. Work environment is located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
nREQUIRED EDUCATOIN/EXPERIENCE :
nnThree (3) years related experience.
n nSalary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
