Die SetterThe Die Setter is responsible for the setup, adjustment, and maintenance of dies and stamping presses used in the metal stamping process. This role ensures that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and within quality standards. The Die Setter works closely with machine operators, maintenance personnel, and quality control teams to meet production targets and maintain high-quality output.Key Responsibilities:Die Setup and Adjustment: Install and align dies in stamping presses according to specifications. Adjust dies and presses to ensure proper functioning and accurate production. Verify die and press settings using measuring tools and gauges.Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on dies and stamping presses, including cleaning and lubrication. Identify and troubleshoot issues with dies, presses, and production processes. Coordinate with maintenance staff for major repairs or replacements.Quality Assurance: Monitor production runs to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications. Perform and document quality checks using precision measuring instruments. Adjust machine settings as needed to correct deviations and ensure consistency.Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure that all dies and presses are compliant with industry standards and company policies.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of die setups, adjustments, maintenance activities, and production data. Report any issues or anomalies to the supervisor or manager promptly.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with machine operators to provide guidance and support during production. Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues and improve processes.Qualifications:Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing is a plus. Proven experience as a Die Setter or in a similar role within a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of stamping press operations, die setup, and maintenance. Proficiency in using measurement tools, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy dies and equipment. Manual dexterity and coordination to perform precise adjustments and repairs.
